Hebrew College Online

Help Us Design Our Program!

A pioneer in bringing Jewish learning to the Internet, Hebrew College has offered online courses since 1995 and launched the Internet's first MA in Jewish Studies in 2000. We plan to expand our adult Jewish education and Hebrew language courses and would greatly appreciate your taking a few minutes to respond to this short survey of eight questions that will help us design the program. Your answers will be recorded anonymously and your identity will be kept private.

Here is how the online program might work:

You use your home computer to view pre-recorded online lectures by outstanding scholars. Once a week at a predetermined day and time you log in (from home) to an online "virtual class" led by an instructor. You, the instructor, and your fellow students can all see and hear each other using inexpensive microphones and web cameras attached to the computer. Throughout the rest of the week you are able to continue participating at your convenience in a text-based online discussion. Once a month the class meets at a local synagogue, school, or other community institution, within a half hour's drive. The instructor will lead the meeting via video-conferencing and occasionally attend in person.
